About CAROLINE ALLEN
I was an international journalist, working at places like London's Financial Times, when I heard the call to be an artist. I didn't know at first what was happening. It would take three years to even begin to understand this calling and to put paint brush to canvas. As an empath, I've always been a "sponge" for whatever is around me. If I'm in a big city like Tokyo, my body and soul vibrate with the energy of Tokyo. If I'm at the ocean, I become the water and sand and sky. As an empath, I absorb what is around me. As an artist, I purge it onto the canvas, or paper, or board. My "calling" included more than just visual art. I was also being called to become a mystic. You can imagine the internal struggle. From a journalist who relied only on facts to a mystic? Was the universe kidding? Today, I work with clients as a mystic, offering spiritual answers to life's mundane struggles. I also channel my visual art, working out of a yurt art studio in the woods in rural Oregon. I use watercolor on paper, acrylic on canvas, and solvent on paper. My transformation has included a deep connection to nature and animals, and a desire to contribute beauty and authentic expression. As a coach, I'm passionate about helping empower other women's creative voices. If an image speaks to you, feel free to give it your own title. I believe this is your soul speaking to you. We need art, we need spirit, we need soulful expression that goes beyond the mundane. I've also written four novels on this rocky transition from journalist to mystic/artist.
